Radhika Apte is an Indian actress renowned for her versatility in both mainstream and independent cinema. Born on September 7, 1985, in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, she was raised in Pune, Maharashtra. Apte pursued her education in Economics and Mathematics at Fergusson College, Pune. Her acting journey began in theatre, where she trained under Kathak exponent Rohini Bhate for eight years. She made her film debut in 2005 with a brief role in ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!’ and later gained recognition with her lead role in the Bengali film ‘Antaheen’ (2009). Apte has since appeared in numerous films across various languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. She is also known for her work in short films and web series, with notable performances in ‘Phobia’, ‘Parched’, ‘Sacred Games’, and ‘Ghoul’. Apte has been married to London-based musician Benedict Taylor since 2012, and the couple welcomed their first child in late 2024.
