Nimrat Kaur is an Indian actress who has made significant contributions to both Hindi cinema and international television. Born on March 13, 1982, in Pilani, Rajasthan, she hails from a Sikh family. Her father, Major Bhupender Singh, was an Indian Army officer who was tragically abducted and killed by terrorists in Kashmir in 1994. Following this loss, Nimrat’s family relocated to Noida. She pursued her education at Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Nimrat began her career as a print model and later transitioned to acting, debuting in the film ‘Yahaan’ (2005). She gained widespread recognition with her role in the critically acclaimed film ‘The Lunchbox’ (2013). Her international television debut came with the series ‘Homeland’ (2014), where she portrayed the character of Tasneem Qureshi.
