Alia Bhatt is a British actress of Indian descent who predominantly works in Hindi films. Born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai, India, to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, she made her acting debut as a child in the 1999 film ‘Sangharsh’. Her first leading role was in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ (2012). Alia gained critical acclaim for her performances in films like ‘Highway’ (2014), ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), ‘Raazi’ (2018), and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ (2022), the latter earning her a National Film Award for Best Actress. She is also known for her work as a producer and entrepreneur, having founded the production company Eternal Sunshine Productions and the sustainable clothing brand Ed-a-Mamma.
